Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect what we need to run the site, we don't sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it any time.
1. Why this exists
This page explains what information Giveaways collects about you, what we do with it, and what control you have over it. By using the site, you're agreeing to what's written here. If something isn't clear, write to support — we'd rather answer a question than have you guess.
2. What we collect
We only collect what's actually useful for running the site. Roughly, that's:
- Account basics: email, username, password (stored as a hash, we can't read it), and the country you signed up from.
- Payment data: the wallet addresses or card details you used to deposit and cash out. We don't store full card numbers ourselves — the payment provider handles that.
- Activity: which boxes you opened, what you won, what you sold, what you kept. This is what fills your inventory and history pages.
- Device and connection info: IP address, browser, operating system. We use this to spot fraud and to keep the site responsive on different devices.
- Cookies: small files that remember whether you're signed in, what you put in your inventory, and basic site analytics. More on these below.
If a particular country's law requires more (a copy of your ID, proof of address), we'll ask only when we have to and only for that specific reason.
3. What we do with it
Mostly, the obvious stuff: running your account, processing deposits and withdrawals, saving your inventory, replying to support tickets. Beyond that:
- Security: spotting fraudulent activity, multiple-account abuse, or hacked accounts.
- Site improvement: figuring out which pages are slow, which boxes are popular, where users get stuck.
- Communications: account updates, transaction confirmations, and — only if you opted in — promotional offers.
- Legal duties: responding to lawful requests from authorities, or producing records we're required to keep.
4. Who else sees it
We don't sell your data. Full stop. The only people who touch it outside our team are:
- Payment processors — they need the details to move money. They have their own privacy policies you're agreeing to when you use their checkout page.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — the data lives on their servers under contracts that bind them to protect it.
- Analytics tools — anonymised or aggregated traffic data, no personal IDs.
- Authorities, when legally required — court orders, fraud investigations.
If we're ever acquired or merge with another company, your data would move to the new owner under the same protections. We'd email you before anything like that happens.
5. How long we keep it
While your account is open, we keep your data so the site works. After you close your account, financial records have to stick around for a few years to satisfy accounting and anti-fraud laws. Everything else gets deleted or anonymised when there's no reason to hold it anymore.
You can ask us to delete your data sooner. Where the law lets us, we will; where it doesn't (e.g. transaction records under tax law), we'll tell you what has to stay and for how long.
6. How we protect it
- All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted with TLS.
- Sensitive fields at rest are encrypted as well.
- Access to user data inside our team is restricted to people who actually need it for their job.
- The bulk of any held funds sits in cold storage, not on internet-connected wallets.
That said: no system is invincible. If something ever goes wrong and your data is exposed, we'll tell you about it as soon as we know — not after weeks of damage control.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your data. The common ones:
- See it. Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you.
- Correct it. If something's wrong or out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
- Delete it. Ask for removal — subject to the legal holds mentioned above.
- Take it elsewhere. Get your data in a format you can move to another service.
- Opt out of marketing. One click in any promo email, or message support.
To use any of these, write to support and we'll reply within 30 days.
8. Cookies
We use a handful of cookies, no tracking circus:
- Session cookies — keep you signed in.
- Functional cookies — remember your settings (mute toggle, theme).
- Analytics — anonymous traffic stats so we know what to fix.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser. Blocking the essential ones will break the sign-in flow.
9. Under 18
Giveaways is for adults only. We don't knowingly collect anything about anyone under 18. If we find out an account belongs to a minor, we close it, delete the data we hold on it, and refund any deposits where the law allows.
If you're a parent or guardian and think your child has signed up, please email support so we can sort it out fast.
10. Other sites we link to
We sometimes link to third-party sites — payment providers, news pieces about a prize, partner content. Once you leave Giveaways, you're under their privacy policy, not ours. We're not responsible for what they do with your data.
11. International transfers
Our infrastructure is global, which means your data may be processed in a country other than yours. Wherever it goes, the same protections from this policy follow it.
12. When this policy changes
If we change anything material, we'll email you and pin a notice on the site at least a week before it takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top will always tell you when the current version was published.
13. Talking to us
Anything privacy-related — questions, requests, complaints — goes to our support team. Live chat is the fastest channel; if you want a paper trail, ask for an email address. We answer every message within 30 days, usually much sooner.
